About Caroline - Somerset Family and Funeral Celebrant

Hello!

I'm Caroline Rowe, an independent family and funeral celebrant based in central Somerset and work in the surrounding areas.

Creating meaningful ceremonies begins with understanding people. I craft personalised ceremonies for funerals, weddings, naming ceremonies and other life events.

Trained by the UK Society of Celebrants, I work with people to tell the stories that matter most - the stories that shape families, honour relationships and celebrate the moments that define our lives.

My Background

Inspired by People and Places
My roots are in rural Devon, where I grew up on a farm surrounded by countryside, community and the rhythms of nature before embarking on a corporate career.  Those early experiences taught me the value of connection, kindness and purposeful living. These qualities now sit at the heart of my work as a family and funeral celebrant.

From Corporate Leadership to Celebrant work
My corporate career, most recently as a management consultant, was grounded in professionalism, integrity, and the power of relationships to get things done.  I spent years bringing people together around a shared purpose, helping leaders and teams navigate tough, complex and ambiguous situations by bringing clarity and calm to situations.  Storytelling and narrative building were central to helping people make sense of change - skills that now shape the ceremonies I craft.

I am also a qualified florist, having trained in wedding, event and funeral floristry with the British Academy of Floral Art.  Floristry is something that began as a mindfulness practice during my busy corporate life, and remains my creative 'happy place'.

Floristry taught me how to shape atmosphere, colour and emotion. Through floristry, I've worked with couples, venues, funeral directors and families to bring their vision to life creating wedding and event florals and meaningful floral tributes for loved ones.

My background in leadership and people‑centred work means I’m confident in hosting groups, holding emotional space, and speaking publicly with ease and professionalism.

Ceremonies Shaped by Curiosity, Culture and Connection
My husband and I, and our two now adult sons, travel widely, always with curiosity and a desire to learn about new cultures, traditions and ways of celebrating. That openness informs how I listen, write and craft ceremonies that feel inclusive, personal, and deeply connected.

Trained by the UK Society of Celebrants
All of these collective experiences led me to become an independent celebrant trained by the UK Society of Celebrants.  I have also adopted the Celebrant Charter, which defines the attributes and skills required of celebrants.

Story Weaving at the Heart of Every Ceremony
I am a story‑weaver at heart. Whether I’m crafting a joyful naming ceremony, a wedding rich with personality and humour, or a funeral that honours a life with honesty and love, my focus is always on connection. I listen deeply, draw out the details that make your story unique, and shape them into ceremonies that feel authentic, warm, and meaningful.

People describe me as calm, kind, cheerful, and reassuring - someone who brings steadiness to difficult days and gentle energy to joyful ones. My role is to guide you through the process with clarity and care, offering structure when you need it and space when you need to breathe.

Ceremonies that Honour Life, Love and Belonging
Ceremonies should feel intentional, inclusive and rooted in the truth of the people they honour.  My role is also to help you celebrate life and love in all their forms with compassion, creativity and a steady presence.

Whether you’re welcoming a child, celebrating a marriage or civil partnership, or saying goodbye to someone deeply loved, I’m here to support you and create a ceremony that feels truly yours.

Let's Create a Ceremony Together
People, purpose and connection remain at the centre of my practice. If you're looking for a funeral celebrant, wedding celebrant or naming ceremony celebrant in Somerset, Devon or Dorset, I'd love to help you shape a ceremony that reflects your story with honesty, warmth and intention. Every life has a story, let's tell it beautifully.
